update-golang is a script to easily fetch and install new Golang releases with minimum system intrusion.
When you need to to quickly boot up a Golang binary release into a system.

Shame it's not written in Go, this is linux/Mac only then? It'd be nice to see a universal tool on all platforms to do this.

Thanks for posting, I've shortened the title slightly.

Would love to see an official tool like this. It'd be nice to just type go update, go install go1.7 or go use 1.7 to switch to using different versions of the go tool. It is possible to do of course with some shell scripts but I do think this is something the go tool could manage nicely. They had a similar tool for beta releases but not for the actual releases of go.
