When I first ran go get I was excited at how simple it was. Very quickly I was off and running with 3rd party packages. But, then it happened. I wanted something more than fetching packages. I wanted to manage them for an application. I quickly learned there was a gap here. I learned I wasn't the only one. Just look at the wiki listing some of the tools.
